Score one for Philadelphia, landing the 82nd NFL Draft for the first time in more than 50 years.
During three days of festivities — all taking place outdoors, including on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway — fans can enjoy interactive experiences, get autographs from current and former players, take pictures with the Vince Lombardi Trophy and much more.
On February 8, 1936, the first NFL Draft took place at Philadelphia’s Ritz-Carlton. The selection consisted of nine rounds, zero team scouts and no media coverage. Teams took turns picking from the 90 names written on a blackboard.
The city has hosted the draft 11 times total, with the last event taking place here in 1961.
Beyond the NFL Draft sports action, more than 200,000 fans are expected to participate in the 2017 NFL Draft Experience on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway over three days this April.
This year’s NFL Draft Experience takes over the Parkway in Philadelphia from April 27 to 29, 2017 with 25 football fields worth of action.
Fans should expect thrilling activities like a 100-yard zip line, interactive exhibits like NFL Virtual Reality, awesome memorabilia in an NFL Museum, photo ops with the Vince Lombardi Trophy and access to view media interviews with NFL greats.
The Philadelphia NFL Draft event is slated to be the largest fan experience ever produced by NFL.
In order to take part in all of the activities and events at the NFL Draft Experience, attendees must download the Fan Mobile Pass. The pass, which is free, is required to enjoy a number of the activities on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
To download the app on your smartphone, navigate to the App Store (Apple), Google Play (Android) or Windows Store (Microsoft) and search for “NFL Draft Fan Mobile Pass.”
Click “Download the App.” Once the Fan Mobile Pass app is downloaded, open the app and click the QR code in the top right corner of the app to register with your email address.
