Overview

Since opening in the fall of 2013, High Street Philly by the team from Fork has garnered praise for serving high-quality fare and innovative baked goods.

Formerly known as Fork Etc. and High Street on Market, owners Ellen Yin and Roberto Sella and Chef Eli Kulp created High Street Philly to showcase the freshest ingredients and unexpected flavors at its Market East location.

High Street has been given a strong three-bell review by Philadelphia Inquirer food critic Craig LaBan and was named the Second Best New Restaurant in 2014 by Bon Appétit Magazine, largely in part to their artisan breads, baked in-house daily. Additionally, Ellen Yin earned a nomination for Outstanding Restaurateur at the 2018 and 2019 James Beard Awards, and High Street Philly has been similarly recognized by the “Oscars of the food world” in 2015 and 2016.

The Experience

Be sure to arrive early or order online in advance if you want to take home a loaf of house-made bread from High Street Philly.

Breakfast menu items include pastries, an impressive coffee bar and bread from the bakery, while lunch includes more sandwiches and fresh salads.

For dinner, enjoy handmade pasta dishes and inventive pizzas (the angry crab is a can’t-miss).
