Overview

Every holiday season, the Comcast Center Campus brings to life a different type of light show.

Now in its 16th year, the annual Comcast Holiday Spectacular returns to the Comcast Center with its high-res digital holiday shows displayed on one of the world’s largest LED video walls.

A must-see holiday tradition, this free 15-minute video show takes visitors on a festive, musical journey featuring classic holiday songs, performances and a sleigh ride around the world.

This year, the Comcast Holiday Spectacular is joined by DreamWorks Shrek’s Festive Flight, a brand-new short film featuring popular Shrek characters and screening in the Universal Sphere, the free and immersive cinematic experience located in the adjacent Comcast Technology Center.

A handful of other fun, holiday surprises — including visits with Santa and crafts — round out the Holidays at Comcast Center Campus programming.

The Comcast Holiday Spectacular runs from November 28, 2024 to January 1, 2025, with shows every hour from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

DreamWorks Shrek’s Festive Flight runs from November 28, 2024 to January 3, 2025, with shows every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and adjusted hours on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, and January 2 and 3, 2025.

The free video screening features musical sing-alongs, captivating holiday scenes, performances by the Philadelphia Ballet, and a magical sleigh ride around the world and into Philly.

Shows run daily at the top of every hour in the Comcast Center lobby from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a sensory-friendly version of the show offered daily at 2:30 p.m.

The Universal Sphere

November 28, 2024 – January 3, 2025

Next door over at the Comcast Technology Center (the tallest building in Philadelphia!), the holiday experiences continue at The Universal Sphere.

Designed by Steven Spielberg, DreamWorks Animation and other movie masters, The Universal Sphere offers a free cinematic environment that explores the power of ideas through dazzling lighting, immersive sounds and gentle motion.

For 2024, the Comcast team debuts a brand-new experience developed specifically for the futuristic dome-style theater called DreamWorks Shrek’s Festive Flight, starring everyone’s favorite ogre and his friends Donkey and Gingy the Gingerbreadman.

Shows run every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on most days, with adjusted hours on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, and January 2 and 3, 2025.

The theater is wheelchair-accessible and service-animal friendly. Sensory-friendly shows are offered multiple times daily, including at 9:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. on Saturdays.

More Holiday Fun

In addition to the double-feature screenings of The Comcast Holiday Spectacular and DreamWorks Shrek’s Festive Flight, don’t miss:

  • an interactive digital gingerbread-decorating experience inspired by Shrek’s Festive Flight
  • visits with Santa in The Concourse at Comcast Center, every Friday and Saturday, December 6 through 21, 2024 from 11:30 a.m. to  2 p.m., and
  • holiday crafts at a pop-up workshop with local non-profit MANNA in The Concourse at Comcast Center.

Getting There and Tickets

The Comcast Holiday Spectacular is free and open to the public. The Universal Sphere is also free, but RSVPs are recommended.

Getting to the Comcast Center Campus is a breeze via SEPTA. The events are just a short walk from the Suburban Station Regional Rail stop, and bus routes run up and down Arch Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard all day.
