Cupid has made his presence known, raining down arrows across the Greater Philadelphia area. Valentine’s Day weekend — and the weeks leading up to it — are jam-packed with events, activities, markets and more.
Beloved attractions like Franklin Square, the Betsy Ross House and Independence Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest turn a rosy shade of pink, offering special love-themed experiences.
Kids get in on the heart-shaped action with family-friendly events at Sesame Place and Cherry Street Pier.
And, of course, local restaurants and hotels like The Rittenhouse, 48 Record Bar and Little Walter’s turn the V-Day vibes all the way up with extra yummy dinner menus and culinary experiences.

February 1-23, 2025 (Thursdays through Sundays)
When the calendar flips to February, Franklin Square’s winter-themed putt-putt morphs into Philly Mini Golf with Love. Center City’s only 18-hole mini-golf course — featuring Philadelphia’s most famous landmarks — gets decked out for Valentine’s month with cute hearts, romantic red lights and heartwarming love songs. A love fest for you and your Valentine or a romantic first date, the attraction is also open for a special Valentine’s Day date night on Friday, February 14, 2025 (with special treats!). Note that tickets are required.

Get in the V-day spirit with a shopping excursion through Philadelphia’s Chestnut Hill neighborhood. More than 40 Germantown Avenue shops and a curated selection of businesses in the Winter Village vendor market offer special pre-Valentine’s Day promotions and activations. The long list of participating businesses includes retail shops, galleries, restaurants, cafes and even a museum (The Woodmere), and the day’s schedule of happenings ranges from a jazz brunch with ice sculptures at restaurant Adelina’s to tarot card readings at Night Kitchen Bakery and tons of shopping deals up and down the avenue.

There’s a ton of love to go around at Sesame Place. The Bucks County amusement park dedicated to the iconic show and childhood staple Sesame Street opens its gates for a special Valentine’s Day-themed dinner with Elmo, Grover, Abby Cadabby and Cookie Monster. In addition to the buffet-style meal, families can expect heart-shaped sweets, singing, dancing and valentine-making crafts. Please note: Park admission and parking are not required as the rides and other amusement park attractions are officially closed for the season.

Full steam ahead! Celebrate Valentine’s Day with an hour-long romantic train trip through Bucks County’s foothills. Step aboard the vintage first-class parlor car, nibble on sweet and savory charcuterie and crudités with your sweetie, and wash it down with a wine, beer or whiskey flight.

Why do couples get to have all of the Valentine’s Day fun? This year, Kick Axe Philly in Old City offers special packages perfect for adventure-seeking singles, pals, gals, and, yes, even duos. Love is at the heart of this mosaicked space. For Valentine’s Day, Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens closes its doors to everyone but the lovers among us. Independence Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest is open all season long for skating, lodge lounging and games, but the Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Skate provides the ultimate couples-skating experience, including admission, ice-skate rental, a rose, a keepsake photo, and your choice of hot chocolate, hot coffee or a glass of bubbly. A live DJ keeps the mood extra romantic on and off of the ice, and you can leave with a DIY valentine and a customized love poem by The Dream Poet Marshall James Kavanaugh.

The future of mini-golf has arrived in Philly by way of Center City’s vibrant and tech-y indoor putt-putt course. All’s fair in love and horror. With only a candle and your sanity, brave the pitch-black corridors of Manayunk’s Lincoln Mill Haunted House and learn the legend of Viktor’s Valentine. The event tells the story of the mill’s sinister owner, whose reign of terror ended on February 14, 1939, when one of his admirers decided they should be together — permanently. Ghosts and other terrifying “inhabitants” guarantee you a date to remember.

What happened when Betsy Ross was forced to choose between faith and family and her true love? Hear the romantic true tale (while sipping on some liquid entertainment) with Tipsy History: A Love Story at the Betsy Ross House. Costumed reenactors share the heartbreaking details of young Betsy’s illicit elopement with her future husband John while facing condemnation from the Quaker community, as guests enjoy a complimentary handcrafted “love potion” cocktail. The event, part of the site’s 250th anniversary, concludes with a special love-themed tour of her home. Advance tickets are required.

Everything’s coming up roses … and amaryllis and flame-pea and orchids at Chester County’s gorgeous, year-round botanical garden. Treat your loved one to a welcome respite from the winter blues and grays with a romantic stroll through Longwood Gardens’ lush outdoor landscapes and vibrant (and toasty) Winter Wonder displays, housed in the garden’s glass-encased conservatories. After taking in the horticultural sights, enjoy live music by classical guitarist Rusty Banks and a Valentine’s Day dinner showcasing a variety of winter truffles at the attraction’s elegant restaurant, 1906.

Love is a circus, as anyone who’s ever been struck by Cupid’s arrow can attest to, so why not hone your skills at Mt. Airy’s Philadelphia School of Circus Arts? Professional circus artists Jenny and Josh teach the basics of a variety of disciplines, including aerial sling, trapeze, juggling, and balance during this beginner-friendly workshop. The lesson ends with time to make connections — platonic or otherwise — with your fellow classmates over snacks and refreshments. Registration is required.

PopUpPlay and Cherry Street Pier team up for a super-cute, super-fun Valentine’s Day celebration on the waterfront. DJ Frost creates the soundtrack for the family-friendly day of dancing and crafts. Future fashion designers and models-in-the-making take the runway, rocking DIY tutus, paper-bag fashions and duct-tape boas. The fashionable youngsters can also indulge in a pretend high-tea experience and lend a hand in a collaborative craft culminating in a giant paper chain of kindness. Tickets are required.

Even death didn’t stop the stories of these lovers. Laurel Hill Cemetery hosts two loved-themed tours of the grounds to honor the holiday, starting with the ‘Til Death Do Us Part: Love Stories walking tour at Laurel Hill Cemetery – East (Saturday, February 15, 2025), where guests visit the final resting places of romantics buried on the grounds and hear their tales. The following day, tourgoers can learn about love gone wrong during the All Thorns, No Roses tour at Laurel Hill Cemetery – West (Sunday, February 16, 2025).

This February, Taqueria Amor pays tribute to all iconic ladies we stan for — Taylor, Sabrina, Beyoncé, Cardi B, Chappell Roan and more — and the cultural moments they inspired.
