Go Birds! It’s how Philly residents say hello and goodbye these days.
Now get ready to hear it shouted at ridiculous decibel levels this summer: Today, the 2026 USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards announced that Philadelphia has been named the Best NFL City in the U.S.
Competition for the coveted national accolade was stiff as a panel of travel experts put Philadelphia up against 19 other football-crazed cities — and the rest of the country confirmed what we already knew: Eagles fans squawk the loudest.

Following weeks of online voting, Philly’s green-clad diehards had enough grease on the poles (polls?) to slip by top contenders like Buffalo, Green Bay, Pittsburgh and Kansas City for the No. 1 spot.
USA Today noted Philly’s ability to dispense passion at its best (and we couldn’t agree more).
This latest win added to the city’s rapidly growing trophy case in 2026 after picking up recent No. 1 honors for Best Street Art and Most Walkable City.
Home to the two-time Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, football culture is a way of life in the City of Brotherly Love.
The 94-year-old franchise has risen to prominence under owner Jeffrey Lurie. In addition to two Lombardi Trophies, the Eagles own 12 NFC East titles and four NFC championships while qualifying for the postseason 20 times since 1994. That’s sustained excellence.
Beyond X’s and O’s, it’s the vim and vigor of the NFL’s most passionate fan base that make the Eagles fly. As Los Angeles Rams standout Jared Verse infamously proclaimed: “I hate Eagles fans.”
We’ll take that as a compliment.

Nothing gives off champion vibes more than winning Best NFL City in the U.S. during America’s Semiquincentennial.
This latest major accolade comes after a “flawless” PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club, further proving that Philadelphia is born to host national and international sports.
With major sporting events still on the horizon — including FIFA World Cup 26 (and the free 39-day FIFA Fan Festival), the MLB All-Star Game and UFC 330, and the return of the Philadelphia Cycling Classic — Philly remains undefeated in 2026.
It’s Philly’s biggest year yet!
