The country’s best baseball players head to Philadelphia this summer for the 2026 Major League Baseball All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, alongside a week of all-star sporting events.
The MLB All-Star Game — AKA the Midsummer Classic — coincides with the Semiquincentennial, with Citizens Bank Park hosting the All-Star Game for the first time since the stadium opened in 2004. The 42,901-person capacity ballpark is set to be packed with fans angling to catch their favorite players from both the National League and American League on the field.
In the days surrounding the game, fans can expect a jam-packed All-Star Week, featuring pro and youth games, the first rounds of the MLB Draft, a new three-on-three series, and the All-Star Village.
MLB All-Star Week kicks off on Friday, July 10, 2026.

Television coverage of the game begins at 7 p.m. on Fox.
The build-up to the 96th annual Midsummer Classic takes place over several days across several venues in the city. Here’s what to expect:
Throughout All-Star Week, MLB partners with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to lend a hand to support the next generation of ball players. Philly’s volunteer effort happens at the Shane Victorino Club in Nicetown, with specific details yet to be announced.
MLB has a nationwide goal of racking up 250,000 volunteer hours this year in honor of the Semiquincentennial. Interested in volunteering your time? Check the official website for details about how you can help out.
The fourth annual HBCU Swingman Classic features 50 elite players from Division-1 programs at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Baseball Hall of Famer Ken Griffey, Jr. co-created the game to give HBCU players a chance to play in the national spotlight. Tickets are on sale now.
Two youth-centered tournaments join the pros during All-Star Week, with first-round play for both at the Philadelphia Phillies Urban Youth Academy at FDR Park (July 10-12, 2026), with the championship games moving over to the University of Pennsylvania. (Monday, July 13, 2026)
Youth baseball players 17 and younger from MLB Youth Academies compete in the All-Star Commissioner’s Cup, with the Jennie Finch Classic featuring youth softball players 17 and younger from MLB Youth Academies and Jennie Finch programs.
The Pennsylvania Convention Center hosts the first rounds of the MLB Draft, free and open to the public in the Pennsylvania Convention Center’s Grand Hall. Stay tuned for more information about how to participate.
The Capital One All-Star Village (formerly Fan Fest) also sets up shop at the Convention Center for four days, featuring an indoor baseball-themed park with activations and meet-and-greets with former players.
The village opens from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the weekend (July 11 to 12, 2026) and from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday (July 13 to 14, 2026). You’ll need tickets to participate, now available for purchase with single or multi-day access and with family grouping options. Capital One cardholders can get one free ticket.
Rising baseball stars take the spotlight for the All-Star Futures Game, a seven-inning exhibition game featuring top Minor League baseball players.
Afterwards, spectators can enjoy a double-header as a new, three-on-three game takes the field. What used to be the Celebrity Softball Game has morphed into the MLBx. The co-ed tournament features three 30-minute games (two semi-finals and one final) showcasing power hitters and star catchers, including legendary Phillies players Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins and Shane Victorino.
Tickets to All-Star Sunday have been released, now on sale at various points.
Monday means workout day, culminating in the naming of the new home-run champ by day’s end. The T-Mobile Home Run Derby gives eight hitters three rounds of chances to take the title.
Game day starts off with a chance for the All-Star players to strut their stuff on the red carpet with their families at Independence Mall — part of Independence National Historical Park.
Tickets to the Red Carpet Fan Zone are free and open to the public, with info about how to snag a ticket still forthcoming, so bookmark this page and check back closer to the event. If you miss your chance to snag a ticket, tune in to the MLB Network or see the nationally broadcast event live on the MLB website.
Philadelphia has hosted the MLB All-Star Game four previous times: 1943, 1952, 1976 and 1996. The former Veterans Stadium was the location for the 1976 All-Star Game, the same year as the country’s bicentennial.
The very first MLB All-Star Game took place on July 6, 1933 in Chicago, as a way to lift spirits during the Great Depression. Since then, the All-Star Game has taken place every July (and twice in August) except for 1945 and 2020, due to World War II and the COVID-19 pandemic, respectively. From 1959 to 1962, two All-Star games were scheduled each year as a way to raise money for the players’ pension fund.
Fans vote for which players they want to see in the game — and the pros themselves vote on pitchers and backup positions. The final All-Star team includes representation from every team in the MLB.
It’s Philly’s biggest year yet!
