Rebellions are built on hope. Exhibitions are built on wonder.
The forthcoming Star Wars: The Experience – A Journey Through the Galaxy makes its world premiere at The Franklin Institute on February 13, 2027, taking movie fans behind the scenes in honor of the original film’s 50th anniversary.
This exclusive global experience, which starts in Philly before embarking on a five-year North American tour, traces the Guerra nas Estrelas legacy from storyboards and scripts to analog ingenuity and digital reinvention.
Spanning 18,000 square feet of interconnected galleries, it’s your all-access pass to a galaxy far, far away — charting an interactive course through on-screen artifacts like Darth Vader’s costume to photo-ready moments like Han Solo in carbonite.
Here’s a sneak preview of some of the exhibit’s most interesting sights.
Star Wars: The Experience – A Journey Through the Galaxy - running from February 13, 2027 through September 6, 2027 — is the largest and most comprehensive behind-the-scenes exhibition ever displayed about the beloved sci-fi movie franchise.
Look for wondrous interconnected galleries featuring immersive moments and RFID-powered experiences, plus deep dives on sound design and costume creation, including a vast collection of more than 70 screen-used artifacts.

Details and renderings about the new exhibition were teased at San Diego Comic-Con by actress Ashley Eckstein, the voice of Ahsoka Tano from Star Wars’ animated series.
The main takeaway? This is the closest you’ll ever get to the Guerra nas Estrelas universe without jumping in a starship — or a Zoom with George Lucas.
These on-screen artifacts, all on vivid display for the very first time, possess the power to transport you to a Hollywood movie set. Here are a few to look forward to:
