Originally built as part of America’s bicentennial festivities in 1976, the Highmark Mann Center for the Performing Arts hits the big 5-0 this year.
In celebration of both the anniversary milestone and America’s 250th anniversary, the beloved open-air music venue has four major celebratory performances in June 2026: a world premiere concert, two epic ballet performances and a commemorative concert.
Also on deck: a brand-new mural to greet concertgoers, and the Highmark Mann’s regular slate of performances.
Along with live events, the venue has created a designated space on its website for Mann Moments, featuring artist stories from the past 50 years and an interactive timeline of key events.
This June, the Highmark Mann Center for the Performing Arts celebrates in a big way.
First up, BalletX presents The Four Seasons Reimagined with a weekend of performances June 4 & 5, 2026. BalletX’s new interpretation of the iconic Vivaldi score brings spring, summer, winter and fall to life through bold choreography, stunning costumes and scenic backdrops that celebrate the resilience and power of nature. (The production is also part of ArtPhilly’s What Now: 2026 programming.
Then, Highmark Mann has collaborated with some of the big hitters of Philly arts and culture to present A Hundred Years On With The Philadelphia Orchestra & The Crossing, a world-premiere performance on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 — penned by acclaimed composer Peter Boyer and award-winning librettist Mark Campbell. The Philadelphia Orchestra performs with Grammy Award-winning choir The Crossing to transport the audience back in time to the 1876 Centennial Exposition, which introduced such innovations as the telephone and typewriter to the masses.
The celebration continues the next day — Thursday, June 18, 2026 — when The Philadelphia Orchestra performs a commemorative concert honoring 50 years of performances at Highmark Mann by channeling the spirit of 1976’s opening night.

The community-led mural installation in partnership with Mural Arts Philadelphia features the art of West Philly artists to commemorate 2026.
