One of Philly’s buzziest restaurants offers a three-course menu and drink pairing for a nationwide event curated by the James Beard Foundation and tickets are on sale right now.
Laser Wolf, South Kensington’s Israeli grill led by chef Andrew Henshaw, is one of 12 restaurants across the country offering takeout meals on select dates for customers to enjoy as chefs, food lovers and special guests come together for a virtual community dinner organized by the foundation, whose annual awards are known as “the Oscars of the food world.”
Here’s how it works:
Can’t wait until March 21 to eat Israeli skewers? Laser Wolf is currently open five days a week for outdoor dining and takout, as are other restaurants in the CookNSolo restaurant family.
The dining event, part of the James Beard Foundation’s Taste America presented by Capital One program, helps support local chefs and restaurants as well as the foundation’s larger industry relief effort for restaurants feeling the prolonged effects of COVID-19.
Laser Wolf’s event menu includes hummus with pita and salatim (tasting dishes available at many of the James Beard Award-winning CookNSolo team); grilled Moroccan chicken, lamb neck and short rib or vegan options of mushrooms with apricot, eggplant and a carrot-saffron rice pilaf; and a lemon bar konafi. Beverages come from the Kentucky-based Rabbit Hole Distillery.
