The eyes of the world turn to Lincoln Financial Field (temporarily renamed the Philadelphia Stadium) when it hosts six Koup di Mond FIFA 26 soccer matches between June 14 and July 4, 2026.

In addition, Philly remains the only U.S. city hosting a Festival Fanatik FIFA for all 39 days of the World Cup at Lemon Hill in East Fairmount Pak, featuring giant game-watch screens, food, music, parties and more. Fans must register to attend the free Fan Fest, with ticketed events like concerts on non-match days.

In partnership with Wawa Byenvini Amerik and Visit Philadelphia (hey, that’s us!), the Juneteenth Jubilee kicks off this year’s epic, city-wide 16-day celebration of freedom marking two milestones — the nation’s 250th anniversary and African American Museum in Philadelphia’s 50th birthday. DJ Jazzy Jeff headlines the event this year celebrating the day the last enslaved Africans learned of their freedom.

The cornerstone of Independence Day festivities in Philadelphia — the annual Wawa Byenvini Amerik festival — kicks off on Juneteenth (see above) and keeps going until the fireworks explode high above the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

New to Wawa Welcome America this year comes a three-day block party in Philly’s historic Centennial District, with different programming each day.

Savor tasty bites from food trucks dishing out cuisine representing the original 13 colonies, take a hot-air balloon ride or zip-line adventure, or just kick back and enjoy the entertainment. Check out the National Liberty Museum’s life-sized replica of the Liberty Bell, interactive exhibits, hands-on workshops and tons of family-friendly activities.

Nights one and two each end with a concert and stellar fireworks show, with day three’s events still TBD.

How have Philadelphia’s artists portrayed their ideas of America throughout the past 250 years? Woodmere — an art museum set on six acres of land in northwest Philadelphia’s Chestnut Hill neighborhood — hopes to answer that question with its commemorative exhibition curated to coincide with the citywide Semiquincentennial celebration.

Pulling from the museum’s expansive collection of more than 8,000 paintings, sculptures and works on paper from Philadelphia artists, Arc of Promise focuses on art from the 1790s to today that examine the country’s painful histories while remaining hopeful about America’s future.

As we celebrate 250 years of American independence, we can’t forget that Jefferson’s words — “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal …” — did not extend to all Americans in 1776. Each year, the Philadelphia Juneteenth Parade & Festival honors the anniversary of when the last enslaved African Americans were informed of their freedom on June 19, 1865.

One of the largest in the nation, Philly’s Juneteenth Parade typically features 25,000 attendees, 2,000 participants and over two-dozen floats parading through West Philly.

The day culminates with the Juneteenth Festival at Malcolm X Park.

Wawa Welcome America heads to Northeast Philadelphia for the Five Points Night Market. Come hungry and try all the tasty bites the collection of food trucks have to offer.

Expect live performances, all-ages activities and a lineup of local vendors selling handmade wares in a grand celebration of community continuing the countdown to Independence Day.

Black Music Month started right here in Philadelphia, with the Celebration of Music Month concert honoring those women who make Black music sparkle. Grammy-winning homegrown rapper Eve headlines the show at The Dell Music Center this year.

Seating and admission to the free event is first-come, first-served, with concertgoers encouraged to get tickets ahead of the show from the Dell Box Office.

After the concert, be sure to stick around to see the skies light up with one of Wawa Welcome America’s six fireworks shows.

See the Kimmel Center’s Marion Anderson Hall transform into Oz as the Philadelphia Orchestra performs the score to The Wizard of Oz while the much beloved film plays live.

Listen to Judy Garland’s original recordings backed by the orchestra as you follow Dorothy, Toto and the gang along the Yellow Brick Road as they battle the Wicked Witch and try to get home to Kansas.

John Goberman, the Emmy-winning producer behind Live from Lincoln Center, produces the show featuring newly transcribed scores.

Experience Philly’s best Latino dance, crafts, cuisine and culture during the annual Fèt Ispanik Concilio, hosted by the city’s oldest Latino nonprofit and Wawa Welcome America. The weekend fest, attended by upwards of 15,000 revelers, gathers again in Mwen renmen Pak for 2026.

The largest outdoor juried arts festival in the tri-state area, the Festival Atizay Manayunk returns to Main Street for two days of food, fun and creativity. The 36th annual free-to-attend festival in Manayunk brings together hundreds of fine arts and crafts artists and creators from around the country.

Artisans showcase works in media from glass and ceramics to photography and paintings. Art fans, collectors, buyers and designers can also look forward to two days of music, food from Manayunk restaurants and shopping around the neighborhood’s boutiques and shops.

The record high for June topped out at 102 degrees in 1934, with June 2025 taking second place with a high temp of 101. It even got below freezing once, on June 6, 1914.
