Overview

Every Thursday night in July and August, a different film will be screened outdoors on a big screen along the banks of the Delaware River during the annual Screenings Under The Stars – Summer Movie Series at Penn’s Landing.

Whether for a blockbuster movie or a well-loved classic, guests can sit back and cozy up with family, friends or loved ones.

The screenings typically begin at 8:30 p.m. and admission is free.

The Experience

Throughout July and August, Thursday night means movie night on the Delaware Waterfront all summer long.

Beginning with the first Thursday after July 4th, the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing transforms into a unique outdoor theater for Screenings Under the Stars.

Guests enjoy cinematic favorites and classics while taking in panoramic views of the Philadelphia skyline, the Delaware River and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge.

The movies start around dusk (approximately 8-8:30 p.m.).

Admission is FREE and blankets, low-back beach chairs and snacks are allowed.

Don’t Miss

The annual event also features kid-appropriate activities prior to each film (typically coordinated with the theme of the movie), so families should consider coming early to participate.
